About the Department

The Department is one of the university’s multidisciplinary academic units. It contributes to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes, business administration education (MBA and EMBA), and continuing professional development.

Its principal fields of study are Economics, Management, Marketing, Public and Local Administration, and Agritourism. Particular emphasis is placed on analytical thinking, professional competencies, practice-oriented learning and managerial decision-making skills.

Teaching is conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English. Educational activities involve qualified academic staff from Kazakhstan and abroad.

History of the Department

The history of the Department dates back to 1932. Throughout its development, it has preserved its academic traditions while strengthening the training of specialists for Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector and wider economy.

Head of the Department, 1953–1973

Khamid Davletovich Churin holds a special place in the Department’s history. For more than thirty years, his professional career was associated with the Kazakh Agricultural Institute. His contribution to the Department’s development, academic traditions and the preparation of highly qualified specialists and researchers remains part of the university’s institutional heritage.
