ㅤㅤCurrently, the I.V. Sakharov Department of «Transport Engineering and Technology» named after I.V. Sakharov has a scientific circle «Serpin», in which up to 20 students, from 2 to 4 courses, participate. The management of the research work of undergraduates and students is carried out by the teachers of the department through special courses, special seminars, individual consultations on research works. The results of this work are reflected in the reports at the scientific student conference and in joint publications with the leaders in the journal.

ㅤㅤThe university annually hosts International scientific and practical conferences of young scientists and traditional student scientific conferences, competitions of start–up projects. Master students are involved in SRW at the Department of «Transport Engineering and Technology» named after I.V. Sakharov. An important indicator of the effectiveness of SRW is the participation of master students of the department in the performance of contractual and search–initiative SRW conducted at the department.  According to the results of SRW, master students will reflect research in joint publications with teachers. The topics of dissertations will be updated annually by 100%. The subject of dissertation works is in line with the main scientific directions of the departments. The approval of topics and the appointment of scientific supervisors of dissertations takes place within 2 months after enrollment, all scientific supervisors have a candidate's degree, PhD or Doctor of Sciences.

ㅤㅤThe organization of SRW at the university is carried out through scientific student circles and circles of scientific and technical creativity of young people, in which students are involved.

ㅤㅤThe results of the SRWMS are reflected in the joint publications of teachers with students. Collections of student scientific papers are published annually at the university based on the results of student scientific conferences.

ㅤㅤThe organization of SRWMS and development of students at the university is carried out through scientific student circles and circles of scientific and technical creativity of young people, in which students are involved, starting from the first courses of study.

ㅤㅤCurrently, the Department of «Transport Engineering and Technology» named after I.V. Sakharov has a scientific circle "Serpin", in which up to 28 students, from 2 to 4 courses, participate.

ㅤㅤIn order to increase the efficiency of SRW conducted at the department, the scientists of the department study foreign experience in conducting research and successfully implement teaching staff and students at the department in scientific activities. Professor Khazimov M.Zh. has repeatedly traveled to the USA and as a result, together with scientists from foreign countries, performs research under the budget program 217 «Develop science» subprogram 102 «Grant financing of scientific research» on the priority «Sustainable development of the agro–industrial complex and the safety of agricultural products» on the topic: «Technology and means of preparation, storage of silage in soft vacuumed containers for feeding cattle» and according to the priority «Energy and mechanical engineering» on the topic: «Technology and means of removing mulching film and flexible drip irrigation tapes from the field during the post–harvest period».

ㅤㅤDuring the period of 2018–2022 academic years, employees of the Department of «Transport Engineering and Technology» named after I.V. Sakharov of KazNARU participated in the implementation of seven major scientific and educational projects together with foreign partners. Three of them received funding for 2015–2017 for 1 project, for 2018–2020 for two projects:

ㅤ1.ㅤ«Intensification of vegetable production by developing a complex of machines for resource–saving technology» (2015–2017) MES RK. 30.0 million.

ㅤ2.ㅤ Technology and means of removing mulching film and flexible irrigation tapes of drip irrigation from the field in the post–harvest period (2018–2020) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 30.0 million.

ㅤ3.ㅤTechnology and means of preparation, storage of silage in soft vacuumed containers for feeding cattle (2018–2019) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 24.5 million.

ㅤㅤTogether with foreign partners from the Russian Federation and the United States of America, materials were prepared for publication in peer–reviewed foreign scientific publications indexed by international Web of Science databases or included in the Scopus database. Together with a foreign partner from the University of Mississippi (USA, city of Fargo), one of the prepared articles for publication in peer–reviewed foreign scientific publications indexed by international databases Web of Science or included in the Scopus database has been translated into English.

ㅤㅤTogether with foreign scientists for the period from 2017 to 2020, 3 articles included in the Scopus database were published. More than 10 patents have been obtained.

ㅤㅤCurrently, the department is conducting three projects on grant financing of the Ministry of Education and Culture:

ㅤㅤJointly with the students of KBTU and the Institute of Combustion Problems, a grant–funded project is being implemented on the topic: «Development of high–efficiency low–power boilers due to the intensification of the coal combustion process in the fixed bed» for the period 2023–2025. 50% of the department's staff, including 2 doctoral students, participate in this project.

ㅤㅤOn the topic: «Development of an intensive technology for processing bee hives for combing and wax raw materials by modernization of technical means in the conditions of beekeeping farms of Kazakhstan», the department also implements a project for grant financing under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, 2 doctoral students with similar topics participate (head of the topic – Khazimov M.Zh.).

ㅤㅤOn the topic of young scientists «Development of the design and justification of the parameters of a mobile unit for the preparation of silage in vacuum containers made of airtight film», 1 doctoral student on a similar topic and young scientists participate (the project leader is Khazimov K.M.).

ㅤㅤResearch work has begun on the basis of the Agrotech plant (in the vicinity of the city near the village of Bayserke) on the processing of soybeans for food purposes as an additive to confectionery products. Prepared application for patent RK for drying okra in a vortex dryer. Laboratory studies are conducted for the purpose of concluding an economic contract or for submitting an application for grant funding.

ㅤㅤThe department is preparing 9 articles for publication in journals with indicators Q1 and Q2 on the current three topics of grant funding. Of them, 2 articles were reviewed.

ㅤㅤThis program is focused on preparing specialists who will design, operate, and modernize transport vehicles and infrastructure. Students will master modern approaches to organizing transport processes, including using new materials and technologies to improve the characteristics of transport systems.

ㅤㅤ6B11301 – Organization of Transportation, Traffic and Operation of Transport

ㅤㅤThis program aims to train specialists who will be able to efficiently organize and manage transportation processes, ensure traffic safety, and optimize the use of transport vehicles. Students will study the key aspects of transport company operations and learn methods to improve the efficiency of transport processes.

ㅤㅤ6B11302 – Logistics (by sectors)

ㅤㅤLogistics is an essential part of transport technologies and requires knowledge of managing transportation and warehousing. This program teaches students methods for optimizing logistics chains and improving their efficiency in various sectors of the economy.

ㅤㅤThis master's program focuses on further research into the management of transport processes and optimizing transportation operations. Students will learn methods for managing transport flows and improving the efficiency of transport processes through the introduction of new technologies.

ㅤㅤInnovation-Based Teaching Approaches

ㅤㅤOur department actively works on integrating innovations into the learning process. Students have access to modern laboratories and software for modeling transport systems and managing transport processes. They also participate in scientific research aimed at solving current issues in the transport industry.

ㅤㅤThe department collaborates closely with industrial enterprises, government organizations, and research institutions, providing students with the opportunity to work on real-world projects and gain practical experience. This cooperation allows students to acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills.

ㅤㅤThe student startup "Bottle Sorting" is aimed at developing an efficient system for collecting and recycling plastic waste for further use in the agro-industrial complex (AIC). The project involves 10 student participants.

ㅤㅤThe initiative focuses on addressing environmental issues related to plastic pollution and supports the principles of sustainable development.

ㅤㅤThe PET bottle sorting startup is a promising initiative that contributes to solving ecological problems and developing the agro-industrial sector based on sustainable development principles. The implementation of the project will not only reduce environmental pollution but also create effective mechanisms for the secondary use of plastic in agriculture, thereby contributing to the development of the "green" economy.

ㅤㅤAs of now, the following tasks have been accomplished within the startup:

ㅤㅤDevelopment of a collection system – locations for installing plastic bottle collection points (universities, public areas) have been identified.

ㅤㅤCreation of a sorting line – a method has been developed for sorting PET bottles by plastic type and contamination level.

ㅤㅤPartner search – connections have been established with recycling companies for further waste processing.

ㅤㅤIdentification of areas for recycled plastic use – promising applications in the agro-industrial sector have been determined (greenhouse structures, agrotextiles, packaging).

ㅤㅤFuture Development Prospects

ㅤㅤThe department will continue to evolve in line with global trends in transport and logistics. We aim to advance scientific research and innovation aimed at improving the quality of transport services, optimizing transport flows, and ensuring the sustainability of transport systems.

ㅤㅤOur primary goal is to prepare specialists who can address critical issues in developing transport infrastructure and optimizing logistics processes, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of the transport industry.
