KazNARU launches a Series of Environmental Campaigns and Competitions for Plastic Collection
The Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) announces the launch of a comprehensive environmental campaign that includes plastic waste collection events and competitions for students and staff. The initiative aims to promote environmental awareness, develop skills in waste segregation, and encourage a sustainable lifestyle.
The campaign includes the following activities:
1) Environmental Actions
- Collection of plastic waste on the university campus and surrounding areas.
- Sorting and separation of collected materials.
- Transfer of plastic for recycling with subsequent monitoring of the process.
2) Competitions for Students and Staff
- KazNARU Plastic Challenge — faculty teams compete in the amount of collected plastic and the quality of sorting.
- Creative Projects Competition “Plastic in a New Life” — participants propose ideas for reusing plastic, eco-art, and innovative solutions.
- Video and Post Competition “I Choose Recycling” — students create short videos and posts to raise awareness about the importance of waste segregation.
Campaign Goals
- Increase environmental awareness among youth.
- Develop sustainable habits of waste segregation.
- Reduce the amount of plastic entering the environment.
- Support and develop “green” initiatives within the university.
Organizers note that participation in the events and competitions will allow every student and staff member to make a real contribution to environmental protection and demonstrate an active civic position.
