On April 8, 2026, a ceremonial certificate award ceremony was held at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University for students of the double-degree educational program “Artificial Intelligence”, implemented jointly with Zhejiang University of Technology (China).

The event was attended by Dean of Zhejiang University of Technology, Professor Chen Xi, Consul for Science and Education of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty Ms. Huang Xiaoming, Member of the Board of the National Center for Space Research and Technology JSC M.R. Nurguzhin, representatives of leading Chinese organizations in the field of AI and water security, scientists from Kazakhstan and China, university faculty, students, and schoolchildren of Almaty.

A welcoming speech was delivered by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNARU, Academician A. Kurishbayev. He emphasized that in 2025, the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University of Technology, and high-tech companies of the PRC, established the International Laboratory of Spatiotemporal Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development aimed at developing advanced AI solutions. He also highlighted that the development of artificial intelligence and international educational programs is a key factor in building a competitive scientific and educational environment.

An important outcome of the event was the signing of a Memorandum with Zhejiang University of Technology on the implementation of a double-degree educational program in “Robotics,” which expands the range of joint initiatives and strengthens integration into the international academic space.
