KazNARU Students Participate in START-UP Competition
On May 5, 2026, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) hosted a START-UP Project Competition among its students as part of the International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students, titled "Smart AgroScience: Research and Innovations of Young Scientists."
A total of 17 teams participated in the competition, presenting innovative projects in the fields of agriculture, veterinary science, artificial intelligence, food production, ecology, and engineering technologies. The proposed projects focused on enhancing biosafety in livestock farming, digitalizing services and document management, producing healthy and traditional food products, recycling waste, conserving water and natural resources, and introducing innovative engineering solutions.
The competition entries were evaluated by an expert commission consisting of:
* Timur Sagimbayev, Managing Director of Sinoasia B&R Insurance Company JSC;
* Alim Sugirbayev, Head of the Commercialization Office at KazNARU;
* Nurlan Sandybayev, Director of the Kazakhstan–Japan Innovation Center at KazNARU;
* Askar Baimukhanov, Leading Specialist of the Research Institutes and Technology Transfer Coordination Center at KazNARU.
The commission assessed each project based on the clarity and structure of the presentation, the relevance of the problem addressed, the novelty of the proposed solution, the project's feasibility, market demand and competitiveness, investment potential, the quality of presentation materials, and compliance with the allotted presentation time.

The winners received diplomas and cash prize certificates during the conference's closing ceremony. All other participating teams were awarded certificates of participation and commemorative gifts provided by the competition sponsors.
Overall, the projects presented at the competition were aimed at improving economic efficiency, promoting import substitution, advancing innovative solutions, and strengthening the scientific and entrepreneurial potential of young people. The competition highlighted the creativity, research capacity, and innovation-driven mindset of KazNARU students, contributing to the development of practical technologies for the agricultural sector and beyond.
