KazNARU HOSTS PRESENTATION OF THE “KAZAKH LANGUAGE” TEXTBOOK
On September 23, 2026, KazNARU hosted the presentation of the textbook “Kazakh Language: Upper-Intermediate Level (B2-1)” as part of the annual Language Week, “Language – the Heart of the People, the Foundation of the Nation.” The event brought together the university leadership, faculty members, language specialists, and students.
At the Third National Kurultai, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of developing Kazakh as a language of business, technology, and science, while highlighting the need to prioritise practical work in this area. In this context, the new textbook is of particular practical significance, as it is designed to strengthen students’ ability to use Kazakh effectively in professional environments.
During the presentation, Gulmira Alpysbayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at KazNARU and Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, highlighted the role of the textbook in enhancing the competitiveness of future specialists.
Bauyrzhan Zhonkeshev, Head of the Department of Languages and Candidate of Philological Sciences, emphasized the importance of field-specific terminology in developing Kazakh as a language of science. He also highlighted the need to create educational resources that enable future professionals to communicate confidently in Kazakh within their respective fields.
The content and structure of the new textbook were presented by one of its authors, Saya Itegulova, Associate Professor at the Department of Languages and Candidate of Philological Sciences. She explained that the main purpose of the publication is to improve students’ language proficiency in a professional context and prepare specialists who can communicate fluently and accurately in situations relevant to the agricultural sector.
According to co-author Bayandy Ospanova, Associate Professor and Candidate of Philological Sciences, the textbook contributes directly to students’ professional socialisation by enabling them to receive, process, and analyse professional information in the state language.
The presentation was attended by Bizhomart Kapalbek, Director of the Institute for the Development of the State Language and Candidate of Philological Sciences. He emphasized that developing educational resources aimed at strengthening professional communication is an important requirement of the present day.
During the event, Almas Uderbayev, Head of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages at Satbayev University and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Erlan Kassen, Head of the Department of Kazakh Language Theory and Teaching Methodology at Abai KazNPU and Candidate of Philological Sciences, and other experts shared their views on professionally oriented Kazakh language teaching and the development of field-specific terminology.
The discussion identified key directions for the effective integration of the textbook into the educational process, its further improvement, and the development of subsequent proficiency levels.
The new textbook is not merely another publication for learning Kazakh, but a unique practical resource designed to support the confident use of the state language in professional settings. We believe that the textbook will be widely used in the educational process and will contribute to the development of professional Kazakh while expanding the use of the language in science, education, and industry.
