Meet up with American students in Kazakh National Agrarian Research University
On May 23, 2023, Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) hosted a meeting with American students from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, USA. The meeting was organized by the International Institute for Green and Sustainable Development and was held at the Faculty of Zooengineering and Food Technology. During the meeting there was a lively discussion of problems and prospects for sustainable development in the format of questions and answers between students of KAZNARU and representatives of the American university. The meeting was an important aspect in terms of further cooperation and implementation of internationalization of educational programs and the development of international academic exchanges, including U.S. universities. The meeting have taken part: students of faculty of zooengineering and technology of foodstuff, and also teachers and management of faculties.
Young researchers from the U.S. are working on a major international project to study global food security issues and analyze the prospects for using innovation and innovative agro-technology to address the challenges of sustainable development, climate change and food security. The students and young researchers of KazNARU acquainted foreign guests with the laboratory "Technology of livestock products," visited the department "Technology of food safety" and Agrohab.
During the conversation was discussed the peculiarities of scientific and practical and expert work in American universities and their approach to cooperation between our countries. Thus, during this meeting were discussed the important issues of training qualified professional staff, as well as the involvement of young people, in practical projects.
At the opening presentation of the event there were: Representatives-students of American universities, interpreters and the Dean of the Faculty of Zooengineering and Food Technology - Professor Bibipatyma Ertayevna Erenova, also actively participated volunteers, students of the faculty and director of the International Institute for Green and Sustainable Development - Mr. Rafis Abazov.
Foreign guests shared the main points of the event and spoke briefly about the purpose of the visit and joint collaborations. Professor Bibipatyma Ertayevna Erenova welcomed students and noted the importance of the organization and participation in the event. She noted 3 important directions:
1) Cooperation and knowledge exchange with American students;
2) Carrying out joint researches and projects;
3) Development of agribusiness skills among young people.
Mr. Rafis Abazov (Executive Director of the International Institute for Green and Sustainable Development of KazNARU) shared, in turn, the current trends in the world of innovation. He also noted that young people should be knowledgeable in what is happening, both in the country and the world, to take part in such activities, it is necessary to attract and involve students in projects to be implemented at the international level. He quoted the famous American businessman Alan Kaye, "The best way to predict the future is to invent it." He noted that the university is working to develop new programs for international academic exchanges and collaborative research.
KazNARU's working group includes executives with extensive practical experience, scientists, and KazNARU staff: Rafis Abazov (executive coordinator-manager), Saule Yesengaziyeva (manager of MBA training programs), Yesbol Omirzhanov (director of DIR), Maiya Suyunchaliyeva.
