KazNARU and the INTERNATIONAL IRRIGATION COMPANY "RUBIKON" SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT
On June 14, 2024, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University Akylbek Kurishbaev and the General Director of Rubicon Global PTY LTD (Australia) Peter Pelisaar signed a Cooperation Agreement on the development of a strategic partnership aimed at the import and implementation of innovative irrigation technologies.
The signing of the agreement marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at the development and implementation of innovative irrigation technologies. The main areas of cooperation include joint research, the development of new irrigation and water conservation techniques, as well as educational programs and internships for students.
The head of KazNARU Akhilbek Kurishbaev expressed confidence that this partnership will bring significant benefits to both parties.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to combine our efforts and scientific resources with the leading international company Rubicon in the field of introducing innovative irrigation technologies. This cooperation will open new horizons for our students and researchers, allowing them to participate in cutting-edge innovative projects and gain practical skills in solving global water supply problems,” said Akhylbek Kurishbaev.
Rubicon is a world leader in irrigation systems and solutions for the efficient use of water resources. Rubicon CEO Peter Pelisaar noted the importance of integration with the academic community.

Our technologies and expertise will help the university prepare a new generation of specialists capable of coping with the challenges associated with climate change and sustainable development,” said Peter Pelisaar.
As part of the agreement, it is planned to implement several key initiatives:
- “Research projects”: creation of joint laboratories and research groups to develop and adapt new technologies for irrigation and water resource management.
- “Educational programs”: organizing courses, seminars and master classes with the participation of Rubicon experts, as well as internships and practice for students.
- “Technological implementations”: the use of advanced Rubicon irrigation systems on university research fields and farms, which will allow studying their effectiveness in real conditions.
The parties are confident that this cooperation between KazNARU and the Rubicon company will become a catalyst for the further development of scientific and technological solutions in the field of irrigation. The university plans to actively involve students and young researchers in projects to provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful career in the agri-tech sector.
The meeting was also attended by the representative of Rubicon Global PTY LTD (Australia) in Central Asia Mr. Nurbek Dairbekov, vice-rector for international relations and strategic development of the university Rafis Abazov, and heads of faculties and departments.
