Seed production

On September 25, 2024, a training seminar on "Innovative technologies in potato seed production from in vitro to elite" (Vegetable crops (in open and closed ground), potatoes, sugar beet) was held in the Talgar AF, Almalyk village, Talgar district, Almaty region.
The theoretical part of the seminar consisted of one educational lecture with the involvement of a scientist from the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University: 
Lecture - "Innovative technologies in potato seed production from in vitro to the elite", lecturer Suleimenova Saule Yertayevna, PhD, Professor of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University. 
The topic of the lecture reveals the step–by-step transfer of original, elite and reproductive potato seed production to a modern technological level:
- selection of productive, healthy plants of a certain variety;
– analysis for the content of major viruses and viroids;
– isolation of the apical meristem clean of phytopathogens; 
– combination of thermo- or chemotherapy of source plants with culture of apical meristem;
– diagnosis of viruses by the ELISA method;
– regeneration and microclonal reproduction in vitro; 
– in vitro production of microtubers; 
– obtaining healthy mini-tubers with the use of hydroponic and aeroponic crops for the production of super-elite, super-elite and elite potatoes.  
The practical part of the seminar consisted of a visit by the participants to the demonstration site of AF Talgar. 
The seminar participants were provided with meals in the form of a coffee break.
According to the results of the seminar, testing of the acquired knowledge, discussion of lecture topics, questionnaires and presentation of certificates were conducted.
