Relevance
One of the limiting factors of socio-economic development of the natural-economic system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is located in the arid zone, is the deficit of water resources. This circumstance requires fundamental research on assessment of water resources in river basins on the basis of new accumulated information taking into account current climatic changes and anthropogenic load.
Project idea - assessment of ecologically maximum permissible impact on transboundary rivers should be based on the analysis of their hydrological, hydrobiological, hydrochemical and hydrogeological features as indicators of functioning of aquatic and floodplain ecosystems, allowing to assess the permissibility of the planned disturbance of the water regime, i.e. assessment of permissible withdrawals of river flow
Project Goals
Aim is develop anthropogenic load ecological norming principles in transboundary rivers catchments, considering all natural, anthropogenic factors that characterise the aquatic ecosystem behaviour in a state of stable equilibrium, which is possible to determine the ecosystems sustainability, technical objects ecological safety at the technical, ecological substantiation stage.
Expected and/or achieved results
The expected result is, on the basis of existing mathematical models of aquatic productivity, the development of methodological support for ecological substantiation of the maximum permissible level of anthropogenic impact based on the Le Chatelier-Brown principle, which shows that after any changes in the elements of the natural environment (material composition, energy, information, speed of natural processes), chain reactions are bound to develop, which try to neutralize these changes or the formation of new natural processes.
The following results have been achieved:
- scientific and methodological concept for water management assessment of river basin territory in spatial and temporal aspects based on the dynamic-stochastic approach was developed;
- a multicomponent methodology of water management assessment of anthropogenic impact on the territory of river basin catchments was developed, reflecting the peculiarities of the territorial structure of water use, conditioned by natural-climatic differences, level and nature of economic development;
- scientific and information base of research was created, including climatic, hydrological, hydrogeochemical, demographic and water management indicators with deterministic properties expressed in the form of time dependencies;
- dynamic-stochastic analysis of the scientific-information base of research was carried out.
Information for potential users
Consumers of the results obtained under the Project can be water management organizations - basin administrations and water management organizations, as well as design institutes dealing with water availability, water use and protection of water resources
