Research interests: water resources management, water use, monitoring of water bodies, extraction of water from groundwater sources, and irrigation of pastures in Kazakhstan using energy-efficient water extraction technology.
He has been a co-author of research projects at KazNAU since 2015, serving as an engineer and project manager in a number of scientific projects funded by grants and targeted programs:
• Researcher in a research project under the KazNAU research program, included in the applied research agenda for 2012–2017 based on a competitive selection under Budget Program 026 “Provision of Innovative Grants within the Productivity–2020 Initiative” JSC “National Agency for Technological Development” of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the project “Development of a new type of pneumatic-vacuum (airlift) pumping unit for lifting water from underground water sources using resource-saving technology and improving the quality of the lifted water”;
Researcher on the project: “Transboundary River Basins of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China: Scientific and Applied Foundations for Sustainable Water Supply to the Population and Economy under Conditions of Climate Change and Economic Activity for the Period up to 2050,” concluded by Contract No. 29 dated July 2, 2018, between Institute of Geography LLP ;
• Project contractor: “Development and optimization of energy-efficient land reclamation technologies for managing the soil potential of irrigated agricultural landscapes in the Republic of Kazakhstan.” Scientific and Technical Program “Irrigation Technologies and Equipment for the Introduction of New Irrigated Lands, Reconstruction, and Modernization of Existing Irrigation Systems” for 2021–2023, under Activity 5. Based on the results of the research, two recommendations were prepared—one on water reclamation and the second on agrotechnical reclamation using energy-efficient technologies on irrigated lands;
• Project Leader Zhas Galym, IRN AP22687854 “Ecological norming of maximum permissible anthropogenic load on catchments of river basins (on the example of the Shu River basin)” for 2024–2026.
