Абай - дана, Абай - дара қазақта!

At the Scientific Library of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, senior lecturer of the Department of General Education Disciplines, Gulaziya Zhagypbarovna Akhantaeva, organized an event with first-year students of the Russian-language group of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Engineering. The event was dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great poet, composer, philosopher, statesman, educator, founder of Kazakh written literature, and national pride — Abai Kunanbayuly.

Purpose of the event: to acquaint students with the works of the great thinker Abai Kunanbayuly; to cultivate humanity, diligence, and honesty; to nurture their interest in knowledge through the study of his poems and prose; and to develop their speaking skills, expressive reading abilities, and vocabulary while fostering kindness and moral values.

During the event, students recited Abai’s poetry from memory, performed his songs, played traditional kuis, and staged theatrical scenes. Presentations and video materials about the poet’s life and creative legacy were shown, and quiz questions were prepared. The students’ accurate answers demonstrated how much new information they had learned about Abai. A book exhibition titled “Abai — the Wise, Abai — the Unique of the Kazakh People!” was also presented, featuring an overview of Abai’s works.

Guests who attended the event noted that reading the works of the great Abai and reflecting on them reveals the foundations of moral upbringing and personal development. They expressed their appreciation for the high level of organization and encouraged students to continue learning, seeking knowledge, and striving for self-development.

As the saying goes: “If you seek wise words, read Abai — do not hesitate!”
The poet’s legacy is a true spiritual treasure for future generations.
