EXPERT MEETING ON COMPLIANCE OF INNOVATIVE “AI-KUN” PASTA PRODUCTS WITH HALAL STANDARDS
In 2024, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University became the winner of the Commercialization Competition for R&D Results for 2024–2026 with the project No. DP23691844 “Production of Innovative Multigrain Pasta ‘Ai-Kun’”, led by D.B. Zhalelov.
On March 4, 2026, within the framework of the project implementation, a working meeting was held with the international expert Mr. Mehmet Bayar, Food Engineer / Lead Auditor, Member of the GİMDES Technical Committee, regarding the certification of products in accordance with Halal standards.
The meeting took place at the production facility of Bal Halal LLP, where key stages of the certification procedure, international requirements and standards applied to products, as well as the specifics of organizing production processes in compliance with Halal regulations were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to issues of production control, ensuring the traceability of raw materials and finished products, compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, as well as the implementation of an internal audit system. The participants discussed mechanisms for preparing the enterprise for certification, documentation requirements, storage and logistics conditions, and further steps aimed at increasing the export potential of the innovative Ai-Kun products.
It should be noted that the first stage of the certification audit has been successfully completed.
Obtaining the Halal certificate opens new opportunities for the Ai-Kun project and Bal Halal LLP in international markets. It will provide access to regions where Halal certification is a mandatory standard, such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and will significantly expand the client base.
Certification also contributes to improving product quality and increasing consumer trust, making the products more competitive. The implementation of an internal audit system and strict production standards will ensure stability and efficiency of processes, which in the long term will lead to optimization of production costs and further improvement of product quality.
Special thanks are extended to Rimma Danabaevna Tazhibayeva, Executive Director of Bal Halal LLP, and JSC “Science Fund” for their cooperation and support in the implementation of the project.
