ASTANA HOSTED THE RES EXPO 2026 INTERNATIONAL PLATFORM
On April 22, 2026, the first day of RES EXPO 2026 took place in Astana at a high international level with the participation of heads of state.
As part of the event, the Central Asian Climate Change Conference 2026 was also held, serving as a key regional dialogue platform on climate change and sustainable development.
RES EXPO 2026 aimed to develop a shared vision for sustainable development across Central Asian countries. The platform brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, financial institutions, development agencies, the private sector, academia, and civil society.
A delegation from Kazakh National Agrarian Research University actively participated in the event, led by Chairman of the Board — Rector Akhylbek Kurishbayev. University staff and representatives of the Institute of Green and Sustainable Development also took part, demonstrating the university’s commitment to advancing environmental initiatives, research, and international cooperation.
During the first day, participants discussed pressing climate and environmental challenges in the region and outlined priority areas for cooperation, including climate adaptation, sustainable use of natural resources, and the development of a green economy.
The main goal of RES EXPO 2026 was to establish an open platform for developing joint, practice-oriented solutions to address climate and environmental challenges. The event highlighted the critical role of regional cooperation in strengthening global efforts toward sustainable development.
Hosting RES EXPO 2026 underscored Central Asia’s growing importance in the global climate agenda and contributed to strengthening partnerships among countries and organizations.
