KazNARU PRESENTS NEW TEXTBOOK FOR PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED KAZAKH LANGUAGE LEARNING

On September 23, 2026, KazNARU hosted the presentation of the textbook “Kazakh Language: Upper-Intermediate Level (B2-1)” as part of the Language Week “Language – the Heart of the People, the Foundation of the Nation,” dedicated to the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan. The event brought together university representatives, faculty members, students, and experts in the Kazakh language.

The new textbook is designed to advance professionally oriented Kazakh language learning, strengthen students’ command of field-specific terminology, and develop professional communication skills in the state language. Its primary objective is to support the training of specialists who can use Kazakh confidently and effectively in professional contexts relevant to the agricultural sector.

During the presentation, Gulmira Alpysbayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at KazNARU, highlighted the significance of the new textbook. Bakyt Zhonkeshev, Head of the Department of Languages, emphasized the role of field-specific terminology in strengthening Kazakh as a language of science. The authors, Saule Itegulova and Bayan Ospanova, presented the textbook’s content, structure, and methodological features. Bizhomart Kapalbek, Director of the Institute for the Development of the State Language; Almas Uderbayev, Head of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages at Satbayev University; and Erlan Kassen, Head of the Department of Kazakh Language Theory and Teaching Methodology at Abai KazNPU, shared their views on the relevance of the publication and its potential for use in higher education.

The participants also discussed professionally oriented Kazakh language teaching and the development of field-specific terminology. Based on the recommendations presented during the meeting, further work will focus on integrating the textbook into the educational process and developing the next level of the course.
