Essay Competition “Tolyk Adam — The Person of the 21st Century”

On September 24, 2026, as part of the Subject Week dedicated to the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan, the Russian Language Section held a competition program on the theme “Тіл — халықтың жүрегі, ұлттың тірегі” — “Language is the Heart of the People, the Pillar of the Nation.”
As part of the competition program, the “Tolyk Adam — The Person of the 21st Century” essay competition was held. The competition focused on the ideas of the great Kazakh thinker Abai Kunanbaiuly and their significance for the modern individual.
Participants were offered the following essay topics:
    1.    “The Relevance of the ‘Tolyk Adam’ Concept in the 21st Century”;
    2.    “Language and ‘Tolyk Adam’: Knowledge, Culture and Spiritual Development”;
    3.    “The Role of Education in Shaping a Well-Rounded Personality.”
The aim of the competition was to promote the development of a spiritually and morally mature, educated and well-rounded personality through reflection on Abai’s ideas and the role of language, culture and education in modern life.
Competition Winners

2nd place — Aibek Nurakhmet, group Vet-16-13K.
3rd place — Aliya Bektemissova, group CT-26-05K.
“Depth and Relevance of the Topic” nomination — Aray Erkhan, group MShAT-26-07K.
“Argumentation and Author’s Position” nomination — Adil Zhumakhan, group Vet-26-12.
“Creative Approach and Written Communication Skills” nomination — Aidana Nurmakhan, group Vet-26-08K.
The competition was organized by Zh.M. Nurmankhanova, A.B. Toyguliyeva and G.A. Berdysheva.
