KazNARU HOSTS JOINT MEETING WITH THE ALMATY CITY DEPARTMENT OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS

On October 9, 2026, Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) held an information and awareness-raising meeting on “Prevention of Religious Extremism and Terrorism.” The event aimed to improve religious literacy among young people, protect them from the influence of radical ideologies, and strengthen social stability.

The keynote speaker was Bakhytzhan Saparov, a member of the Almaty City Information and Awareness-Raising Group, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The meeting was moderated by Maksat Imanbekov, Leading Specialist for Social and Legal Affairs at the KazNARU Department of Educational and Social Affairs.

The event was attended by Ashirali Smanov, Director of the KazNARU Department of Educational and Social Affairs, and Nazerke Kuzen, Student Ombudsperson.

During the presentation, the speaker addressed the threats posed by religious extremism and terrorism, preventive measures, and ways to protect young people from the influence of destructive religious movements. At the end of the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from the expert.
