KazNARU AND XINJIANG ACADEMY OF ANIMAL SCIENCES TO IMPLEMENT JOINT RESEARCH PROJECTS
KazNARU hosted an official meeting with a delegation from the Xinjiang Academy of Animal Sciences of the People's Republic of China.
The delegation was led by Gao Weimin, Vice President of the Xinjiang Academy of Animal Sciences, PhD, and Research Scientist. The delegation also included Azati Zulipikar, President of the National Camel Breeders Association, PhD; Wang Jing, PhD, Head of the Research Group on Livestock Product Processing; Lazat Ainiwar, Research Scientist; and Liu Chenxi, PhD, Associate Research Scientist specializing in biological breeding.
Pirimkul Ibragimov, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of KazNARU and Professor, welcomed the Chinese delegation and emphasized the importance of the meeting in advancing scientific cooperation between the two countries.
“I am confident that today's meeting will strengthen the friendly ties between Kazakhstan and China in science and education and elevate our mutually beneficial cooperation in animal husbandry to a new level,” said Pirimkul Ibragimov.
During the discussions, both parties identified key areas of cooperation, including the development of camel breeding, the conservation and improvement of animal genetic resources, selective breeding and genetic improvement, and veterinary safety. The participants also explored opportunities for joint research on camel milk processing and other livestock products, with a focus on improving product quality and nutritional value.
Particular attention was given to the possibility of establishing a joint research laboratory or a dedicated camel research center. Such a facility would bring together the scientific expertise of researchers from both countries and facilitate the practical application of research findings in the livestock industry.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between KazNARU and the Xinjiang Academy of Animal Sciences. The agreement establishes a foundation for long-term scientific and technical collaboration and the implementation of joint research projects.
