2024 Plant Health Workshop: Accurate Identification of Vegetable Diseases and Improved Plant Health in Kazakhstan
The 2024 diagnostic training workshop for accurate identification of vegetable diseases will be held from September 2nd to 7th 2024 with The Faculty of Agrobiology at KazNARU. This workshop is sponsored by The American Phytopathological Society (APS) and will be led by APS members and local experts. The workshop will include: components of a diagnostic lab and the diagnostic process, use and care of the microscope, culturing fungi and bacteria from plant tissues, preservation of fungi, field identification of fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to control vegetable diseases. More than half of the workshop will be spent in the lab and field for hands-on training. This workshop is intended for graduate students, growers and farm managers, and extension faculty.
