Batyrkhan Azimkhanovich Buralkhiev is a highly qualified specialist in the field of animal husbandry, biotechnology, and agricultural science. He graduated with honors (Lenin Scholarship recipient) from the Alma-Ata Zooveterinary Institute in 1986. From 1990 to 1994, he completed postgraduate studies at the All-Russian Research Institute of Physiology and Veterinary Medicine (Borovsk, Russian Federation), specializing in biotechnology. He also holds a diploma from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation as a “Research Biotechnologist” (specialty 23.03.00 – Biotechnology).
Professor Buralkhiev has made a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists. Under his supervision, more than 30 undergraduate theses have been completed, 18 master's students and 3 PhD students have been successfully trained. He currently supervises doctoral students in the specialty “Livestock Production Technology.” His H-index (Scopus) is 3.
He continuously enhances his professional competencies through international and national training programs, including:

He has participated in major international and national research projects, including:
- ICARDA–IFAD GRISP global livestock research project
- International space biotechnology project on embryo viability in microgravity (Baikonur)
- Development of national strategies for animal genetic resources (Turkey)
He has led and contributed to multiple grant-funded research projects supported by the Ministries of Education and Science and Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
