The research was aimed at developing a comprehensive system of measures to ensure the well-being of Kazakhstan's regions with respect to foot-and-mouth disease, rabies, brucellosis, bluetongue, and Schmallenberg disease in farm animals, as well as studying avian metapneumovirus infection, a completely new disease for the Republic of Kazakhstan that poses a real threat to the relevant sector of our economy.
Project executor under budget program 055 "Scientific and/or Scientific and Technical Activities" 101 "Grant Financing" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic: "Monitoring of avian metapneumovirus infection and development of diagnostics and specific prophylactic agents," 2015-2017. The executor of the budget program of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan 212 Scientific research and activities in the field of agro-industrial complex and nature management" Scientific and technological progress "Scientific support for veterinary welfare", for the project "Development of a system of measures to maintain epizootic welfare among farm animals for foot-and-mouth disease, Bluetung, Schmallenberg disease and the fight against anthrax and rabies in the Republic of Kazakhstan" 2015-2017, the executor of the budget program 267 "Increasing the availability of knowledge and scientific research", subprogram 101 "Program-targeted financing of scientific research and activities", for the specifics 156 "Payment for consulting services and research", "Scientific support for veterinary welfare and food safety" 2018-2020. The executor of budget program 267 "Increasing the availability of knowledge and scientific research", subprogram 101 "Program-targeted financing of scientific research and events", implementation of applied scientific research in the field of the agro-industrial complex on the task of "Ensuring veterinary and sanitary safety and epizootic well-being", under the program "Study the epizootological characteristics of the country's territory for especially dangerous diseases and develop veterinary and sanitary measures to improve their effectiveness", under the project "Study the epizootological characteristics of the country's territory for smallpox in cattle and develop veterinary and sanitary measures to improve their effectiveness" 2020-2021.
Currently, the project manager "Development of a subunit vaccine against avian metapneumovirus infection" is receiving grant funding for scientific and (or) scientific and technical projects of the Scientific Research Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2026. She has supervised 12 master's theses and 1 PhD student, and is the scientific advisor for 3 PhD students, the supervisor for 4 master's students, and the supervisor for 1 thesis.
U.Zh. Omarbekova is the author of over 200 scientific and methodological works, including: - 28 in publications recommended by the authorized body of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- 5 in scientific journals included in the Clarivate Analytics databases (Web of Science Core Collection, Clarivate Analytics, and 8 in Scopus or JSTOR). She holds 15 patents and innovation patents.
She has authored 60 educational and methodological recommendations and internship programs, and regularly provides educational and methodological assistance to the department's staff and young faculty.

From 2022 to the present, she has directed and conducted advanced training courses for regional veterinary specialists and university faculty in the programs "Especially Dangerous Diseases of Pathogenicity Groups I and II. From 2024 to the present, through academic mobility, she has taught online classes in "Diagnostics of Diseases of Small Domestic, Laboratory, Wild, and Exotic Animals" for students of the Veterinary Medicine Faculty of the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry, and Biotechnology.

For the first time, using the latest means of epizootological monitoring (GIS For the first time, using the latest means of epizootological monitoring (GIS technology), the range and nature of the spread of MPIP in the Republic of Kazakhstan will be established, the most relevant epizootic strains of the MPIP virus will be isolated and their antigenic spectrum deciphered, and effective means of diagnosing and preventing the disease will be developed on their basis.
The results of the study are a definite contribution to world science in terms of establishing new areas of the spread of MPIP with subtype identification of the virus. The information on the nucleotide sequences of the genomes of the original Kazakhstani strains of the MPIP virus registered in the international Genbank database will be used in many scientific centers and laboratories around the world to study the comparative evolutionary variability of MPIP viruses of various origins. The implementation of the project program will provide an economic effect based on the successful prevention of avian metapneumovirus infection, which has a positive impact on the profitability of poultry farms and the social infrastructure of agro-industrial complexes.
