2nd International Congress of Veterinary Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine

On September 29-30, 2025, the II International Congress of Veterinary Medicinal Plants and Folk Medicine was held in Erzurum, Turkey, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Atatürk University. This international scientific event brought together researchers, veterinarians, and representatives of agricultural universities from Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, and other countries to discuss the role of medicinal plants and biological preparations in the prevention and treatment of animal diseases.

Goals and objectives of the congress

The main goal of the congress was to promote scientific exchange in the fields of phytotherapy and biotechnology, increase interest in natural remedies as components of modern veterinary programs, and foster international cooperation among scientists from different countries. Key areas of discussion included phytochemistry, plant-derived pharmacology, probiotics, and innovative methods of natural animal therapy.

Participation of Kazakh scientists

KazNARU was represented by scientists Raya Myktybayeva, Abylay Sansyzbay, and Zhassulan Otebayev, who presented a report on the topic:

"Influence of the probiotic preparation 'Lactobact-ARZ' on the dynamics of some morphological and biochemical blood parameters in calves."

In their research, the authors demonstrated the effect of the developed probiotic preparation on the blood condition of calves, including indicators of total protein, albumin, globulin, and enzyme activity. It was noted that the administration of the probiotic contributed to the normalization of metabolic processes, enhanced immune status, and improved the morphological characteristics of young animals' blood, which aligns with global research trends on the use of lactobacilli in animal husbandry.

Results and significance of the event

The forum served as a platform for forming new international collaborations and exchanging experiences among specialists in the field of natural preparations and biotechnologies. The participation of Kazakhstani researchers highlighted the contribution of domestic science to the development of environmentally safe methods for maintaining animal health and confirmed the relevance of integrating probiotic technologies into veterinary practice.
