“Parade of Parks-2023” and “Turan Tiger”
The main goal of this event is to increase environmental knowledge and familiarize future specialists with the issues of conservation and rational use of the biological diversity of the mouth of Lake Balkhash.
Zh. Elubay, Deputy director of the reserve for science and tourism, S. Abilov and A. Kaliyeva, employees of the Department “Ecological Education, Recreation and Tourism”, told about the life of the Turanian tiger in this region in the last century, their biological development, the reason for the disappearance and the upcoming return of the tiger . In this regard, they focused on the work being done to restore the habitat of the tiger and acclimatize the prey base of the tiger with the involvement of Tugai deer and wild asses.
Students listened to the lecture with interest and asked questions about the Turanian tiger, which is going to be returned to the territory of the Ile-Balkhash reserve, about the introduced steppe animals and about the opportunities for internship.
After the meeting with the students, representatives of the Ile-Balkhash State Nature Reserve met with the Chairman of the Board - Deputy Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University - Acting Provost, professor Kaiyrbayeva A.E. During the meeting, the issues of planning practices conducted on the basis of an agreement drawn up in 2021 on conducting professional practice between the university and the Natural Reserve, and planning them for the coming and subsequent academic years, were considered.
During the dialogue, the issue of dual training was raised, which is aimed at improving practical knowledge, skills and abilities in real production.
