Guest Lectures on Sustainable Land Management and Pasture Ecosystem Improvement
On December 5, 2025, the Department of “Land Resources and Cadastre” organized a series of guest lectures for students. The event was initiated by the Head of the Department, Associate Professor E.A. Mursalimova.
As part of the program, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor, and expert of the Kazakhstan Association of Environmental Organizations, Talgat Seituly Kerteshov, delivered a lecture titled “Territorial Landscape Planning as a Basis for Functional Zoning of Territories.” The lecturer highlighted the importance of territorial planning, methods for preserving natural resource potential, ways to enhance economic stability and social comfort, as well as effective approaches aimed at improving production and productivity.
In the second part of the event, Professor B. Sadyk presented an informative lecture on the application of organic carbon to improve soil structure and vegetation cover on Kazakhstan’s pastures. The presentation covered scientific methods for enhancing soil structure, increasing organic matter content, stimulating root system development and perennial grass growth, reducing CO₂ emissions, and improving the carbon absorption capacity of both plants and soil.
Students asked numerous questions related to the restoration of degraded lands, increasing biodiversity of grass species, reducing erosion, and improving pasture productivity. All questions received thorough and detailed explanations.
Professor B. Sadyk also shared practical recommendations aimed at enhancing grass growth, increasing soil organism activity, and promoting the accumulation of organic matter in soil.
The event broadened students’ professional perspectives and provided an opportunity to explore modern scientific approaches in the field of effective and sustainable land resource management.
