The “ReStart” project is implemented by the Coalition for Green Economy and G-Global Development with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and CCİ Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the clean-up was to promote environmental awareness among young people, encourage waste separation, and draw attention to environmental protection issues. In addition to cleaning activities, participants attended an environmental training session covering Zero Waste principles, waste sorting practices, and sustainable consumption.
During the clean-up, students were divided into designated zones and focused on waste collection, with particular emphasis on plastic separation. Special attention was given to proper sorting and preparation of recyclable materials. At the end of the event, the collected plastic was weighed, allowing organizers to assess the contribution of each participant within the framework of the inter-university “ReStart” project.
Participation of KazNARU students in such initiatives demonstrates a high level of environmental responsibility and contributes to the development of sustainable practices in society.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to all participants for their active involvement, responsibility, and contribution to improving the environmental situation in Almaty.
