Sports Competition “Nauryz Fest: Grand Final”
A large-scale student sporting event, the “Nauryz Fest: Grand Final,” was held at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University at a high organizational level, delivering a dynamic and memorable experience for both participants and spectators. The competition served as the final and decisive stage of the interdisciplinary national project “Nauryz Fest.” Specifically, during the first stage, teams competed in knowledge of traditional cuisine and customs; in the second stage, they demonstrated skills in national games and arts; and in the third stage, they presented video projects with a national theme. Out of nine teams that applied, only the top three advanced to the final round.
This event was not only a sports competition but also an important platform for fostering team spirit, cohesion, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Organized in a modern format, the event featured live broadcasts on social media, with participants’ results published in real time, ensuring strong audience engagement.
Three teams competed in the final: “Kaysar,” “Kairat,” and “Shygys.” Each team, composed of active, agile, and well-coordinated students, turned the competition into a truly competitive arena. Participants distinguished themselves not only through speed but also through strategic thinking and effective teamwork.
The competition program consisted of five main stages: “Snake,” “Rotation,” “Ball Passing,” “Ladder,” and “Skipping Rope.” Each stage tested the participants’ agility, endurance, and ability to make quick decisions. Results were determined based on the shortest completion time, with points awarded accordingly for each stage.
According to the final results, Team “Kairat” demonstrated the strongest performance and secured first place with 27 points. The team delivered consistent results across all stages, particularly excelling in “Ball Passing” and “Skipping Rope.” Team “Shygys” took second place with 26 points, achieving the best time in the “Snake” stage and showing remarkable determination. Third place went to Team “Kaysar” with 22 points, which also displayed a high level of activity, especially in the “Ladder” stage.
The fairness and integrity of the competition were ensured by an experienced panel of judges. Chief Judge M. Tuyakbayeva oversaw the overall organization and transparency of the evaluation system. Chief Secretary S. Kondratenko ensured accurate recording and prompt processing of all results. The judging panel also included A.S. Kuanyshev, Ya.Ya. Manapov, and Zh.S. Kospagarova, who carefully monitored compliance with the rules at every stage.
A distinctive feature of this sporting event was its integration of interdisciplinary learning, combining elements of “History of Kazakhstan” and “Physical Education.” Overall, the “Nauryz Fest: Grand Final” proved that such initiatives are not only sporting contests but also effective tools for communication, the development of team culture, and youth engagement. Events of this format are expected to continue growing and expanding in the future. Special thanks are extended to the Department of Physical Education and Sport for the excellent organization of this event.
