Green Office Launched at KazNARU to Promote Sustainable Development and Environmental Culture
The Green Office has officially started its work at Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU). This new space is dedicated to promoting environmental culture, implementing sustainable development principles, and fostering responsible attitudes toward the environment among students and university staff.
The Green Office will serve as a center for environmental initiatives, educational activities, and practical projects aimed at reducing environmental impact. Its activities include promoting waste sorting, reducing plastic use, encouraging responsible resource consumption, and increasing environmental awareness within the university community.
The main objectives of the Green Office include implementing the “green campus” concept, supporting student and faculty environmental projects, and organizing trainings, seminars, and awareness campaigns. Special attention is given to fostering environmental responsibility and developing sustainable habits in everyday life.
During the meeting dedicated to the development of the Green Office, students and faculty members of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of KazNARU were present and expressed their support for the initiative. Participants also proposed the creation of a student sustainability activists club, which will serve as a platform to engage young people in environmental projects and sustainability initiatives at the university.
During the discussion, possible pathways for implementing the initiative were considered, and further steps for developing the Green Office and engaging the university community were outlined. At the end of the meeting, participants exchanged ideas, discussed prospects for cooperation, and took a commemorative photo.
The Institute of Green and Sustainable Development of KazNARU organized the event.
“The establishment of the Green Office is a contribution to the development of environmental culture and a sustainable future. We aim to create a space where everyone can contribute to environmental protection and the development of an environmentally responsible society,” university representatives noted.
The Green Office is open to all students, faculty, and staff of KazNARU and will serve as a platform for cooperation, exchange of ideas, and implementation of environmental initiatives.
